      Open Floor Encounter: \u2018What is that?\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

      If the term Open Floor Encounter is new to you, you might be wondering \u2018What is that?\u2019\u00a0Actually, Open Floor Encounter (before 2013 called Open Floor and created by Andrea Juan)\u00a0 is an experiential investigation moment by moment of our private and public worlds in a multi-dimensional, creative way.\u00a0It is a carefully structured mindful ritual and a powerful compassion practice. It is a combination of individual mini-therapy sessions and simultaneous intensive group process in a dance\/movement context.\u00a0It is intimately interwoven with Open floor Movement Practice and vocabulary.\u00a0 The structure uses the Open Floor movement practice as a vehicle for embodiment and self-expression.\u00a0The Encounter process helps to shape, clarify and deepen this expression. Insights and experiences from the Encounter process are integrated back into the dance.<\/p>\n

      What to expect?<\/strong><\/p>\n

      This unique creative workshop will open for you the magical realm of\u00a0 the Encounter process. It increases your spontaneity, creativity, imagination and helps you to be present and active in the \"here and now\". It warms up your playfulness, curiosity and awakes your soul. Participants will deepen their movement skills and learn new techniques.\u00a0Essential components involved in The Encounter process : The focus person, support persons, the clear witness, the window and the facilitator and assistants. The focus person comes out of the group.\u00a0The facilitator guides the focus person and the groups process. Group members can take different roles.<\/p>\n

      What is the purpose? <\/strong><\/p>\n

      The purpose is to provide an environment for participants to gain more understanding about themselves.\u00a0 Many times people are surprised by the emotions they feel, the insight they gain and the power of the method.\u00a0It helps people to encounter where they are in the present and assists them in contacting and developing the best that is within themselves.\u00a0 As a natural outgrowth, people experience a deeper connection and appreciation of others.<\/p>\n

      Teacher<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Sietske Venema has been working in embodied movement\u00a0practice for over 20 years.\u00a0 She is a certified 5Rhythms and Open Floor\u00a0teacher, a Transpersonal Psychotherapist, studied Somatic\u00a0Experience and Sensory Motor Psychotherapy.\u00a0She has been trained by Andrea Juhan to facilitate\u00a0the Encounter Process.<\/p>\n
